Parasol with deck of needle side, point the gaze the bruxelles. The eight sectors of the parasoldek are bounded by a symmetrical rocaille frame and are filled with a bouquet of carnations, interspersed by a bouquet of roses. There are small reserves with a raster filling as junctions of spitbogen in the sector. Down, the frame is finished and has a bladder shape in the middle. Here comes a second shell, filled with roses and forget-me-staples. These lumps are connected by smaller ones. The lining and a plunged strip are from white crepe Georgette. A white wooden stick has a conical golden button, completely smooth and round as a handle, in which four rows of in size are increasing pearls and diamonds. The last ones are like a briliant ground to a high stone with a small table. The point shows the same, but reduced form. The ends of the ribs are golden buttons with a diamond.Parasol 1855-65 French The coral handle, seen here, with its matching rib tips is fairly rare and so delicate that it speaks of the highly decorative and ephemeral quality of parasols of this period. The ultimate fragility of the handle is in the little spurs that protrude from the main shank making them highly vulnerable to breakage. This would have been a very expensive model and made a statement about the wearers social economic standing. As a marquise parasol, it would have been used more for flirtation purposes than actual shading from the sun.. Some variation was obtained by applying other dotted engravings or by using a different color of printing ink. For example, the collection of Felix Tal in Museum Beeckestijn is the same copy, which only differs in the color (blue) and in the performance in the middle. They were cheap fans that were not always mounted accurately, as is also the case with this example. The fact that the question and answer game on the front is about love is especially evident from the text under the glued stipple engraving. This ends with the sentence 'Livronts Nous Aux Tendres Delires' or we let ourselves be surrendered to the sweet madness'. The game was played because the lover chose a random question on the left half of the magazine and hisBrisé fan 1800-1820 Italian. Brisé fan 168281Fan 18th century French. Fan. French. 18th century.
