Mustard pot with spoon, Spitsovaal, with openwork wall, Diederik Willem Rethmeyer, 1806 The striker Ovale, upwards light -widening pot, which is slightly raised on the sides, rests on a bowed -up -worked curved base. The wall is opened with straight styles, which are interrupted by a horizontal band and that end in lotus shapes connected by pointed arches. Along the top edge, a pearl list runs above a filet edge. The hinged, vaulted lid, which is engraved along the edge in gloss stitch with a narrow strap of curved lines and dots, is crowned by a small button. At the rear is the curved ear that is ribbed on the outside. At the front of the lid is a recess for a spoon. The inner tray of blue glass rests on an excellent edge just above the base of the bottomless pot.
