Mexican Physician Who Has Discovered "The Perfect Anaesthetic".Dr. Miguel Garcia, whose fame has spread thruout the world since his regent discovery of the Ethyl alcohol intravenous injections as the perfect Anaesthetic. As a student he made hundreds of experiments in animals and after four years he obtained permission to experiment with he medical organizations in Mexico. Ethyl alcohol is said to be far better than chloroform, ether or other Anaesthetics previously used. Dr. Garcia's countrymen are sure his beside those of Morton, Simpson and Tuffier. Sigmund Freud, born Sigismund Schlomo Freud (6 May 1856 - 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist, now known as the father of psychoanalysis. Freud qualified as a doctor of medicine at the University of Vienna in 1881, and then carried out research into cerebral palsy, aphasia and microscopic neuroanatomy at the Vienna General Hospital. Upon completing his habilitation in 1895, he was appointed a docent in neuropathology in the same year and became an affiliated professor (professor extraordinarius) in 1902. Freud's work has suffused contemporary Western thought and popular culture.

Dame Mary (Maria) Scharlieb, (1845 1930) pioneer British female physician in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. In November 1882, aged 37, she received a degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours in all subjects, the Gold Medal and the Scholarship in Obstetrics; shortly after this she gained second-class Honours in Surgery. In 1883 she returned to India, and became lecturer in midwifery and genecology at the Madras Medical College and examiner in the same subjects to the university of Madras.
