Affray Has Slight List -- A diving vessel and the Reclaim standing by today over the spot where Affray was located.The Admiralty today issued a statement on the submarine Affray, lying on the sea bed 258 feet below the surface near Hurd Deep, off Alderney. The statement said: "A further examination of the submarine during the night indicates that she is lying with a slight list to port." Divers were standing by aboard the salvage ship Reclaim in case it became possible to launch a diving chamber later today. A dive was made in one of the chambers soon after midnight last night. SS ANDREA DORIA - SS STOCKHOLM Collision. The Swedish liner SS STOCKHOLM, with bow a twisted broken mass of steel, and engines stopped, stands in fairly calm seas as injured passengers are removed from her stern by an Air Force helicopter. Both U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard helicopters teamed up to remove five injured persons from the liner to Nantucket Island Hospital for emergency treatment. From there the injured were transported via Coast Guard amphibious plane to the Public Health Service Hospital in Boston. The STOCKHOLM collided with the Italian luxury liner SS ANDREA DORIA 205 miles east of New York, 55 miles south of Nantucket Island, on July 26, 1956.
