Each of the eight sections has an identical symmetrical design. This would have been a highly prized possession and on the parasol it was loosely tacked in one place at each rib. The embroidery pattern consists of a window that arises between two crosses. Both the crosses and the diamond are made with decorative tires in which geometric flowers are embroidered, surrounded by countless very small recesses.
