Tuscany Grosseto Grosseto Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra. Hutzel, Max 1960-1990 Post-medieval collection of paintings, sacred objects and manuscripts from the Duomo and other city churches. There are a significant number of late Medieval Madonnas & Child paintings as well as High Renaissance paintings from the Bolognese school. The objects include a processional cross, and two reliqueries. Additionally there are some photos of manuscript pages of hymnals with objects they are displayed with. Object Notes: Hutzel notes are undated. The objects in the Musea Diocesano are included in his notes for the Duomo. We have kept Hutzel's numbering for the objects. There are also two prints for almost all the negatives, and the details were so similar (even if one photo is cropped more closely) that we have treated them as though there were two prints for each negative. Hanging antique wallpaper in the Diplomatic Reception Room. An unidentified White House worker hangs panels of antique wallpaper in the Diplomatic Reception Room, White House, Washington, D.C. The wallpaper, entitled Views of North America, was produced by French manufacturer Zuber 26 Company in 1834. The wallpaper features various scenes of the North American landscape and was installed as part of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy's White House restoration and renovation project.

War Damage Repairs At The Temple -- At work on part of the magnificent screen which will stand before the Minstrel's Gallery in the Middle Temple Hall. This screen is a marvelous piece of Rennaissance workmanship, 40 feet wide by 25ft high, carved by Flemish refugees in gratitude to the members of Middle Temple for kindness extended to them. It was badly shattered in the blitz, and the debris was sifted to collect all the pieces. Workmen are pushing ahead with the restoration of the famous Middl

A Painting which makes you Stop and Think: This central piece of the exhibition being hung.William Dobell won the Australian 'Archibald Prize for portraiture' with a picture which was described as "not a portrait but a caricature" by Australian fellow-artists. A law-suit ensued which Dobell won. The one seen here is called "The Strapper" (a lad who rubs down race-horse). It is rich in colour, ranging from the subject's ginger hair to the orange-red of the horse-rug over his right arm. May 1, 1947.
