Sanctuary- Air Raid Shelter in John Keble Church, Mill Hill, London, England, 1940 Children who have been orphaned and/or made homeless by the Blitz are cared for in the John Keble Church sick bay. Volunteer nurses bandage the head of a boy on the left, and check the hand of a girl on the right. The female doctor, who visits when necessary, checks medicine and supplies on the right of the photograph. The children would be kept here until a new, safe home could be found for them.

Quads Progress:The famous babies, left to right - Jennifer, Elizabeth, Bridget, and Frances face the camera for the first time in their new "Cooling Room" at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.The Bristol Quads, Elizabeth, Bridget, Frances and Jennifer, born to Mrs. Elizabeth Good, at Southmead Hospital, Bristol, on June 12th., last, now have a "10 to 1 surety of surviving". This was stated by Sister Muriel Bright who is in charge of the Premature Baby Ward. They have been taken out of their Oxygenaire tents and have been moved into temperature of 70-75 degrees, which means a new step in their lives. All four are being given human milk which is fed them from bottles. This week end, for the first time, their mother was able to assist the nurses in feeding her babies in the new cooling room. July 3, 1948.

He was surgery poorly, and the care was left wound. When he moved to another camp, he hid himself between corpses and could escape. He suffers from tuberculosis. Desert War-And Medicine -- Somewhere in the Western Desert, doctors and nurses of New Zealand unit operate in a tent hospital under lights intensified by the tins that bore gasoline to the fighting forces. Some 50 New Zealand nurses have put in seven months in the hospital. Men of Mercy in U-boat Zone. Aboard a U.S. Coast Guard cutter on convoy duty a doctor operates upon a seaman injured while working about deck. Despite the orderliness of this surgery, the operation is performed under trying conditions as the ship pitches and tosses, and there is always the possibility that a submarine may interfere. The surgeon, on the left, is Lieut (j.g.) John J. Davis, assistant surgeon, United States Public Health Service, whose home is in Davenport, Iowa. He is assisted by Vincent J. Colzani, pharmacist's mate first class, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
