Below these performances are three short verses. This print is printed from the same plate as FM 2420A, but only the portrait of Johan de Witt has remained unchanged. The portrait of Cornelis and the face on the Buitenhof are new. Under the title verses on Cornelis and Johan de Witt and their identical fate. This magazine appeared to defend the De Witt brothers.

Opera 1799 Horace Roman This is the second book in Didot's five-part project known as the "Louvre editions" (1798-1816). Situated between The Works of Virgil and The Works of Racine, it marked the pivotal transition in Didot's suite between authors from antiquity and those from modern France. Manon Lescaut (L'Histoire du chevalier des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut) is a novel by French author Abbé Prévost. Published in 1731, it is the seventh and final volume of Mémoires et aventures d'un homme de qualité (Memoirs and Adventures of a Man of Quality). It was controversial in its time and was banned in France upon publication. Set in France and Louisiana in the early 18th century, the story follows the hero, the Chevalier des Grieux, and his lover, Manon Lescaut. Des Grieux comes from a noble and landed family, but forfeits his hereditary wealth and incurs the disappointment of his father by running away with Manon.
