Cameron's use of light and shade in this print, completed during a trip to Scotland's Westport Harbor, result in a composition that is bold and modern in design. Similar to Meryon's prints of Paris, Cameron contrasts illuminated masses with velvety black shadowing, while forms are meticulously defined through elegant line work.
