Rabat, Morocco - The Utah National Guard's 23rd Army Band performed at the Rabat American School celebrating the United States Independence Day July 4.Commanded by Chief Warrant Officer Denny Saunders, the band performs in these various musical teams: The Ceremonial 23rd Army Band, the Rock Band called "Article 15," the Jazz Combo, the brass quintet called "Five-star Brass" and other ensambles.The Utah National Guard Forged a partnership through the National Guard's State Partnership Program with Morocco over seven years ago. Since 2004 over 75 events have been conducted between the Utah National Guard and the Moroccan military.

The Idaho National Guard hosted a memorial Feb. 9, 2021 in honor of Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jesse Anderson, Chief Warrant Officer 3 George Geoff” Laubhan and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Matthew Peltzer. The three pilots were killed Feb. 2 when their UH-60 Black Hawk crashed outside of Boise.

Menken, a U.S. Army Korean War casualty who served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd ID, who was interred at Green Acres Cemetery in Ermine, Kentucky, May 14, 2022. Menken was reported missing in action after being wounded by artillery fire while guarding Outpost Harry on June 10, 1953, on a road to Seoul, Republic of Korea, in what is now the Demilitarized Zone and his remains were unaccounted for until Feb. 2, 2022, and then repatriated to the place Menken called home.

Navy Band Ceremonial Brass Ensemble plays during a ceremony commemorating the 125th anniversary of the sinking of the USS Maine, Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Feb. 15, 2023.On Feb. 15, 1898, the USS Maine exploded off the coast of Havana, Cuba, leading to the loss of 260 of her crew. Due to Spanish policy, burials had to be made within 24 hours, therefore the initial crew recovered in the aftermath of the disaster were buried at the Colon Cemetery in Havana. On March 30, 1898, Congress approved a bill authorizing for their remains to be disinterred and transferred to ANC. On Dec. 28, 1899, 165 sets of remains were interred in Section 24 with a full military honors service. The USS Maine was eventually raised, and the ships mast was transported by the Navy to ANC where it was placed next to Section 24 onto a granite base meant to represent the turret of the battleship. His awards include the Distinguished Service Cross, two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, and other military honors for his World War II European service. The Shimoda Black Ship festival, or Shimoda Kurofune, celebrates Commodore Matthew C. Perry's arrival to Japan, Japan's subsequent opening to international trade, and the U.S.-Japan alliance. For 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th fleet's forward deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.

The 204th Army Band performed two sets for the local community May 30, 2022, at a Memorial Day celebration held on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. They performed one set as a full band, and played both contemporary pieces and traditional military marches and songs, and one set was comprised of ensemble performances spanning a variety of styles and time periods.
