The 122nd Fighter Wing welcomed home more than two-dozen members from the 122nd Security Forces Squadron, as they returned from a six-month deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Jan. 23, 2015, at the Fort Wayne International Airport. Twenty-six Blacksnakes mobilized for this deployment and were assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The group spent one month in San Antonio conducting combat preparation, then transitioned to Qatar for six months.

More than 120 Airmen completed 35 projects at 11 different locations in seven countries in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel and Operation Inherent Resolve.

The Maryland Army National Guard held a deployment ceremony July 5, 2016, for the 29th Military Police Company at the Maj. Gen. Henry C. Evans Readiness Center in Westminster, Md. The 29th MP Co. was reactivated in 2009. Since the reactivation, the unit has participated in multiple state active duty missions including hurricane and snow relief and during the recent civil unrest in Baltimore City in 2015. The 29th MP Co. will be serving for approximately one year in Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba.

Family and friends gathered with nearly 100 Guardsmen from 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), 149th Aviation Regiment, Oklahoma Army National Guard for a departure ceremony at Muldrow Army Heliport (Army Aviation Support Facility I) in Lexington, Oklahoma, Sunday. The GSAB is deploying three companies to the Middle East. They are comprised of aviators, maintainers and fuel technicians for CH-47 Chinook helicopters in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Having completed pre-mobilization training at Camp Gruber Training Center near Braggs, Oklahoma, the GSAB will move out to Fort Hood, Texas, for additional training before heading overseas.

Staff Sgt. Kyle Juarez, of the Wisconsin Army National Guard's Battery A, 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery Regiment, holds his daughter Nia for the first time Feb. 21 at Milwaukee's Mitchell Field International Airport. More than 30 remaining Soldiers from Battery A - approximately half of the Sussex, Wis.-based unit - were deployed for several months to Afghanistan, where they supplied high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) support. Battery A is only the third National Guard artillery unit to provide HIMARS support in Afghanistan. Half of the unit returned in December as part of troop drawdown operations. Soldiers from the 75th Field Artillery Brigade, 2nd Battalion, 18th Field Artillery Regiment redeployed at Fort Sill Feb. 5 and 7 after they spent about a month at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California for an Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise.

Soldiers from the California National Guards San Bernadino-based 1-185th Infantry Regiment arrived home at Los Angeles International Airport today, Oct. 15, 2022, after a one-year deployment to Poland. During their deployment, the 1-185th was part of Battlegroup Poland, a NATO lead operation that enforces NATO and a multinational military presence in Northeastern Europe. Their specific mission was to train with other nations to demonstrate an alliance and the ability to respond as one force against any potential aggression.

Sgt. Chad Ward, an infantry team leader with 1st Bn., 14th Inf. Regt., 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, holds his wife, Kazia and son, Asher, at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, before deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom Jan. 30. HANSCOM, AFB, Mass - Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry Division, return home from deployment after nine months of service throughout the middle east. Leaders from the Massachusetts National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters and 51st Troop Command leadership greeted soldiers on the flight line of Hanscom Air Force Base. Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group return to Virginia and reunite with family, friends and fellow Soldiers Sept. 18, 2019, after serving on federal active duty in support of Operation Inherent Resolve since Dec. 2018.
