As his quality of Inspector General of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, ZKH Prince Bernhard brought a working visit to the Gilze-Rijen airbase. He was accompanied by Colonel-Vlieger H.F.C. Holtz, Chef Staff of the Inspector General Royal Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel J. de Waal and Major F.G.B. Droste, both of this Staf.zkh arrived per royal Dakota, controlled by him himself (second pilot lt. Klaassen) on Gilze-Rijen, where he was welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel-Vlieger observer J.H.H.H. Lentz, acting basic commandant. Seeks were brought to the ground school, the EVO, the VVO and the VIO, after which lunch was used. In the afternoon ZKH went to the Depot aircraft equipment 2, to the LBK school in Princebosch and to the depot Armament and ammunition 2 in Alpen-Riel. Later a farewell drink followed in the officer's officer of the airbase.

The Moscow Trials were a series of show trials held in the Soviet Union at the instigation of Joseph Stalin between 1936 and 1938. The defendants included most of the surviving Old Bolsheviks, as well as the former leadership of the Soviet secret police. The Moscow Trials led to the execution of many of the defendants, including most of the surviving Old Bolsheviks. The trials are generally seen as part of Stalin's Great Purge which was an attempt to rid the party of current or prior party oppositionists. Trotskyists were especially targeted, but not exclusively. Indeed any leading Bolshevik cadre from the period of the 1917 revolution or earlier who might even potentially become a figurehead for the growing discontent in the Soviet populace resulting from Stalin's incompetent mismanagement of the economy was targeted.

Royal Air Force 1939-1945- Bomber Command A Stirling crew of No 7 Squadron being interrogated at Newmarket on their return from the raid on the Renault factory at Billancourt in Paris, 3-4 March 1942. At the time, it was the largest Bomber Command operation despatched against a single target, with 235 aircraft carrying out the concentrated attack. They achieved considerable success, destroying a significant portion of the plant and putting back lorry production by several months.

Detachment 101, an enigmatic Allied intelligence and special operations unit during World War II, played a pivotal role in the Burmese theater. Operating deep in the jungles of Burma, their mission was multi-faceted, encompassing guerrilla warfare, espionage, and sabotage against Japanese forces. Comprising a diverse group of individuals, from OSS agents to indigenous fighters, they effectively disrupted Japanese supply lines, gathered critical intelligence, and supported resistance movements.
