Exercise operations are shown Aug. 11, 2022, at Fort McCoy, Wis., for the 86th Training Division's Combat Support Training Exercise (CSTX) 86-22-02. The exercise took place in August 2022 at Fort McCoy at various locations throughout the installation. Around 4,000 service members participated in the exercise. The CSTX is a joint training event executed in a live, virtual, and constructive integrated training environment where service members test their tactical and technical skills.

U.S. Air Force Airmen, assigned to the Ohio National Guards 180th Fighter Wing, transports a pallet of cargo during a large-scale readiness inspection, Aug. 8, 2022, at the base in Swanton, Ohio. The Airmen are part of the Arrival and Departure Airfield Control Group, whose primary function is to properly weigh, preform center of balance calculations, and ensure hazardous cargo is safe for flight. The exercise was a full-scale assessment of the rapid generation and movement of personnel and equipment, utilizing a 24-hour operation concept. The wing was evaluated on its ability to pack, prepare and deploy mission-ready personnel, aircraft and support equipment, while operating in a contested and degraded environment.

Railcars that were loaded by Soldiers with the Army Reserves 411th Engineer Company with military vehicles and equipment Nov. 1, 2022, are shown at Fort McCoy, Wis. Overall the company loaded 128 items on to railcars over the multi-day rail movement at the installation to deploy the equipment eventually to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Five personnel with the Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) assisted with the rail movement and its coordination. The 411th is the latest of many units over the last decade to hold rail movements at Fort McCoy. As a matter of fact, for the many decades of Fort McCoys existence, the capability to transport cargo and equipment to and from the installation by rail has always been there. And its a capability that will continue, Fort McCoy LRC officials said. During World War II, for example, the railroad at Fort McCoy was one of the main forms of transportation for bringing troops in for training and home after the war as well a

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - Fire and Rescue team members clean up the vehicles after Hurricane Frances, which passed over Central Florida during the Labor Day weekend. The maximum wind at the surface from Hurricane Frances was 94 mph from the northeast at 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 5. It was recorded at a weather tower located on the east shore of the Mosquito Lagoon near the Cape Canaveral National Seashore. The highest sustained wind at KSC was 68 mph.

The Maryland Army National Guard held a deployment ceremony May 1, 2013, for the 200th Military Police Company at the Maj. Gen. William J. Witte Readiness Center, in Catonsville, Md. The 200th MP Co. can trace its lineage back 90 years as a company in the 29th Infantry Division. The unit was mobilized into federal service for World War II, Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm and to guard the Pentagon after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The 200th MP Co. will be serving for approximately one year in Afghanistan.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - At NASAs Protective Services Training Academy at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, members of the Emergency Response Team, or ERT, participate in specialized training simulations which includes the use of flash bang diversionary devices. They are wearing full protective gear and carrying non-lethal firearms, for the training exercises in order to keep their skills current.Recently, eight members of the ERT competed in the 31st Annual SWAT Roundup International competition in Orlando, Fla., and received recognition by placing in the top five overall. In keeping with NASAs commitment to safety and security of workforce and assets, the ERT is part of Kennedys security team and is trained to respond in the event of an emergency at the center.
