Amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) departs Naval Air Station North Island, Calif., April 7, 2022. Tripoli completed flight deck operations with 20 F-35B Lightning II jets from Marine Fighter Attack Squadrons 211 and 225, Marine Aircraft Group 13, and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, as well as Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron 1, as part of the U.S. Marine Corps Lightning carrier concept demonstration. NEW YORK (Nov. 9, 2022) -The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24) arrives in New York, November 9, 2022 for Veterans Day Week. Sailors and Marines on Arlington, as well as personnel from US Coast Guard Cutter Lawrence O. Lawson (WPC 1120), will participate in a variety of events in and around the city to honor the service and sacrifice of the nations veterans. Events include the annual New York City Veterans Day Parade, a wreath laying ceremony, participating in the New York Giants Salute to Service game and volunteering at the New York State Veterans Home in Queens.

The USS MISSOURI (BB-63) arrives in port on Survivor's Day, when the sailors and Marines of the battleships that were sunk or damaged in the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor are honored. NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (April 2, 2022) Signet Warhorse II towed Military Sealift Command's Large, Medium-Speed, Roll-on/Roll-off (LMSR) ship USNS Yano (T-AKR 297) from Newport News Marine Terminal in Newport News, Va., to the Maritime Administration Reserve Fleet in Beaumont, Texas, where the vessel will permanently join MARADs Ready Reserve Force (RRF). The 16-day tow completed on April 18.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The USS Anchorage is docked at Naval Base San Diego during loading operations in its well deck for Orion Underway Recovery Test 3. A crane is used to lift the Orion forward bay cover for loading on the ship. The ship will head out to sea, off the coast of San Diego, in search of conditions to support test needs for a full dress rehearsal of recovery operations. NASA, Lockheed Martin and U.S. Navy personnel will conduct tests in the Pacific Ocean to prepare for recovery of the Orion crew module on its return from a deep space mission. The test will allow the teams to demonstrate and evaluate the recovery processes, procedures, new hardware and personnel in open waters.The Ground Systems Development and Operations Program is conducting the underway recovery tests. Orion is the exploration spacecraft designed to carry astronauts to destinations not yet explored by humans, including an asteroid and Mars.
