The British Reoccupation of Singapore An officer of the Royal Artillery chooses a new pair of shoes at the Officers' Shop in Raffles Place, Singapore. This shop catered for both male and female officers. For the men there was a tailors department and a barbers shop, whilst a hairdressing and manicure salon was available for the women. The women's clothing department sold ready made clothing, material for dressmaking, silk lingerie and stockings. The shop also had rest rooms where officers could socialize.

Radium Treatment in a London Hospital, England, 1940 A nurse switches on the radium treatment apparatus at a London hospital in 1940. When the patient is ready and everyone else has left the treatment room, the nurse presses a button and air pressure once more transfers the radium from the lead safe to the treatment apparatus.

New War Opens on Factory Front- X-ray Screening For Tuberculosis, London, England, 1943 A factory worker talks to a doctor after being recalled for another x-ray in the makeshift clinic held in the shelter canteen. According to the original caption 'Only a small percentage have to be recalled after the examination of the miniature radiographs. An interview with the doctor may follow the taking of large (17' x 14') radiographs after they have been seen and reported on by the radiologist and physician'.

Blood Drying Unit- Processing Blood in the Laboratory, Cambridge, England, UK, 1943 A member of staff at the blood drying unit at Cambridge University, wearing flying kit and woollen gloves to protect herself against the intense cold, transfers bottles of frozen plasma and serum from the spin-freezing machine to the cold storage room. This storage room is kept at 25 degrees Centigrade and the blood is kept here until it is placed into the vacuum drying chamber.
