Velvet visiting card holder with silk, floral embroidery on satin, 1875.Tools for a needle ladder application in the form of a cotton rag on which a black leaf is sewn with white tracing wires in the shape of a butterfly. Tools in the shape of a black leaf in which the pattern of butterfly wings and a butterfly are 'Poped'. The leaf or 'space' is sewn on a cotton steak and the pattern lines of the motifs are with white tracing threads through the leaf and the steak sewn. They then filled in with a gauze side and the bodice of the butterfly (bottom) with feston stitches cleaved, with recesses here and there. His decorative stitches are also applied. With this motif a white strip of paper is stuck with the text "4th ouvrage" (fourth work). The extra butterfly wings (top) have also been processed in this way and, moreover, a start has been made here on applying relief flights of scented wire bundles. Hereby a white strip of paper is stuck with the text "5th ouvrage" (fifth work).
