Lieutenant Elliot W. Springs of Lancaster, SC, a brave aviator from the 148th American Aero Squadron, is shown in this photograph taken on November 3, 1918, in Remaisnil, Somme, France. Lt. Springs was known for his impressive skill in shooting down enemy planes during the Cambrai sector drive, downing nine planes in flames. The image appeared in a Liberty Magazine article titled "Was Buids" in September-October-November 1926. Censorship notes indicate that the photograph was approved for release, but no specific date is given.

The S.S. Northern Pacific, carrying 2,582 returned soldiers, caught fire on the Fire Island sand bar near Honelyville, Long Island. No lives were lost as the men were safely evacuated using breeches buoys, surf boats, naval launches, and submarine chasers. A Red Cross tent on the beach provided coffee and sandwiches to the soldiers.

Ordnance Sergeant Ivan V. Frye, from the Headquarters Depot of the 32nd Division, is depicted in this photograph. He was born in Marcellus, Michigan to a German father and Dutch mother. At 22 years old, he weighed 135 lbs and stood at 5 feet 8 inches tall. Frye had completed high school and one year of business college before enlisting in the Michigan Signal Corps at Ypsilanti, Michigan. He requested a transfer to Camp McArthur. Frye's occupation prior to enlistment was a bookkeeper and stenographer. He is known for having an excellent memory and was recommended by the Ordnance Officer of the 32nd Division. This image was taken in Rengsdorf, Germany on January 23, 1919, and received on April 15, 1919.

In this photograph, soldiers are seen operating a wave coil in different positions. The image was taken at the Chief Signal Offices of the Army in Washington, D.C during World War One. It was classified as confidential and assigned the identification number 68462.
